(From the Back Burner) Beating the Proverbial Dead Horse: Ghostbusters - Answer the Call

Hello! Welcome to a new feature where I take blogs I wrote years ago, put them on the back burner, forget about them, found them again, and just decide to publish them, because ... why not?! I may add some stuff onto this, just to flesh them out and give them ending. This post is one I started in 2017 where I decided to bitch about Ghostbusters: Answers the Call once again. Keep in mind, this is before Ghostbusters Afterlife was announced, although it may have been rumored by this point. Not sure. Anyway, we can all groan about how some people, myself included, won't let this piece of crap movie just die as you read this From the Back Burner.

I'm just being a proverbial dead horse now. They had all the ingredients to make a passing of the torch movie. Three Ghostbusters who are alive came back, but Feig decided it was best to not make them Ghostbusters, but rather a taxi driver, a dull skeptic, and I'm not sure who Ernie Hudson played, but I'm sure it was just as bad. If Feig was smart, he had the perfect opportunity to make a fun/great/nostalgic movie that didn't have to be Ghostbusters 3, but could've been something new and old Ghostbusters fans would've enjoyed. Instead, what we received was a movie that was condemned from the start as Feig basically shit all over die hard Ghostbusters fans, made idiotic statements that if you didn't like this movie you were a misogynist, even if it had NOTHING to do with the fact the main cast was nothing, but women. The movie just looked like the cookie-cutter bullshit Hollywood spoon feeds everyone now. It was Pixels, you know the terrible Adam Sandler movie, but with ghosts. That's what it reminded me of and that was also a trash Sony movie.

The only good thing that came out of Answer the Call was that it made us love the originals even more. I noticed after Answer the Call came out, Ghostbusters 2 was started to look even better from those who originally didn't like it.
