Iele
Ghosts, Ghouls and Demons
Origin: Romanian Mythology
Description: Feminine creatures similar to the Ancient Greek Nymphs. They are said to be virgin fairies with great seductive powers.
The Iele are sky dwellers who roam the forests and caves in isolated areas. They are at times seen bathing in springs or flitting around crossroads awaiting travellers. They are mostly reported sighted in the night skies just above treetops. They are said to dance around naked in the air, making music with the bells on their ankles.
Their names that are kept secret due to the ability of witches that access their names and use them in select combinations for the basis of spells. Their names can be dangerous enchantments.
The Iele belong in groups and travel together. They can fly at great speed. Most of the time they appear corporeal, but can also be immaterial spirits.
Young, beautiful creatures, voluptuous enough to engage onlookers causing delirium. Their aim with their victims is mainly to inflict revenge. They are not generally considered evil creatures. They do not cause pain, rather their beautiful voices will send you instantly mute. At worst they will abduct a person and repeatedly throw magical spells at them to cause a great sleep. Eventually the victim enters a trance like sleep until they vanish in thin air.
