The Creepy Swamp Monster

Remember this? Back in 2010 this was all the rage with the paranormal community thinking that a deer camera caught a strange creature. Honestly, it freaked me the hell out, but it really resembles those zombies you see in the countless video games out there.

The story broke out in December of 2010 and became known as the 'Creepy Swamp Creature', or "Rake" as some call it. It was even reported on various news stations. What was reported was that a deer hunter in Berwick, Louisiana was looking through his photos from a deer stand camera and claims he caught this image. The hunter shared this photo with as many news stations he could find and those who would listen and a lot did.




Wildgame Innovations admitted that the story was a marketing campaign for a game and had a story to make it seem real. After some time though, they took down the post. Some people like to drink the Kool-Aid apparently, because a lot thought it was real. One website (source below) even claims that this image is the reason why so many paranormal investigators are jumping the bandwagon in using deer hunting cameras for spirit photography.
