Are there different types of spirit guides?

Many people believe so, and some people use the terms guardians and angels to describe their guides. Some of the most common spirit guides are ancestral guides, who are family members who have died.
Followers of many religions may see an ancestral guide as a guardian angel.
A teacher guide generally will not be a constant companion throughout your life, but rather will show up at certain times when needed. For example, a teacher guide may show up to help you solve a problem or to provide insight, and then move on.
Animal guides, in some belief systems such as among some Native Americans, are there to teach and protect us. At the same time, some people believe that an animal guide is there more to be a companion than to actually fulfill some higher purpose.
