Video: "Bro, did you hear that shit?"

Dude, get him his own show. He's funny! He's like a ghetto Zak Bagans! I love it!

I'm just messing. In all seriousness, the video is from Real Time Ghost Raiders Facebook page, who were doing an investigation at Split Rock Quarry. Split Rock is located in Onondaga County, New York where more than fifty people died on July 2, 1918. During this time, the site was a munitions factory at the height of World War 1. The tragedy occurred when a mixing motor in the TNT building overheated causing the 1-3 TONS of TNT to explode, killing fifty people.

Some of the best ghost stories start with tragedy and Split Rock is no exception to the rule.

Mystery of the Mary Celeste

Mystery of The Mary Celeste
This is not a person, this is not even a ghost, this is a sailing vessel that left with ten people and came back with none back in 1872. Over one hundred years later the vanishings it is still a mystery, but the story is still one to be revisited again and again as if it's a dark fairy tale.

I love a good story about shipwrecks, I have no idea how many documentaries I've seen on the Titanic. Perhaps I've read hundreds of articles and seen hundreds of documentaries, but I don't get bored of it. There's just something about a shipwreck that grabs my attention and I have no idea since I'm not fond of swimming or even being in the ocean, but it interests me like a good ghost story. Only thing is the Mary Celeste didn't struck an iceberg or was hit by a torpedo. The mystery within this vessel lies within the story.

The story goes that the Mary Celeste was a New York registered ship built by a Canadian. The vessel was relatively small, only 100 feet from bow to stern and 282 tons. James Winchester, one of the registered owners of the ship, appointed Benjamin Spooner Briggs as the captain. Spooner was well known to be tough and would not leave the ship unless to save his own life. But on December 5th 1872, in the early morning, a Captain Morehouse saw the vessel from a distance between Azores and the Portuguese coast. He knew something was wrong and after two hours of watching the vessel going out of control, he boarded a small ship and went to see what was wrong. There was nothing wrong, the ship was in perfect condition, but everyone was gone. The seven man crew, the honorable Captain Briggs, his loving wife, their two year old daughter...perished and never seen again.

To this day, well over one hundred years later, the demise of the Mary Celeste crew still remains a haunting mystery. What happen all those years ago?

Until next time this has been another Scared Sheetless. If I don't see you before then, have a Happy and filling Thanksgiving.

Also, if you think you got spirits in your house and would like the professionals to come in and investigate, look no further than NEPI. We have the state of the art equipment, the crew with the knowledge, and we've been seen on such newspapers as this, the Littleton Record, and the Caledonian Record. Give us a call and see why when people have ghosts, they put their trust in NEPI.

Where There's Light, There's Always Darkness: 9/11

There are those days you remember like the back of your hand: the day your first born was brought into this world, the day you met the love of your life, or like my group of friends, the day you saw your first spirit. They are days you want to hold onto dear for the rest of your lives. And then they are the days you want to forget. This is a day I think everyone who has a heart would want to forget.

September 11th, 2001 started out as a normal day for me. I was still in school, at the age of 13, and I was in French class. I don't remember the details before the announcement was made, but I remember a lot of what happened after the announcement. The principal came in, whispered in the teacher's ear, and you could tell something was up. There was going to be no insulting our intelligences either as she started heading to the left towards the television as she said, "Class, the Twin Towers in New York City are under attack." She went to the TV, turned it onto the news, and the first images I saw of the attacks were of this tower of smoke. It looked like something from a movie, and at first we wish it was.

The faculty members didn't bother keeping their words of anger, sorrow, and vengeance under a radar. Emotions were high all day and even to this day they still are because what happened that day was so unreal. Previous to 9/11 America seemed virtually solid, but where there's light, there is always darkness. It was not a normal day at school and as much as I can admit I didn't like most of my days at school, I'd take any bad day over this one. I believe we all would give something to take it back, because when this day happened, I'm sure we all felt powerless. Like our very lives were in jeopardy and when those towers crumbled, we may very well crumbled with it. But what's happening now at Ground Zero? They are building it back up.

Tomorrow, Sunday, will be a day to remember. It's been a decade since September 11th and it will be decades more before we will ever forget. To the brave souls who put their own lives on the line to save another's they did not know...I salute you. To those who lost their lives on that day, we will remember you.

And to those who decieved us on that unfateful day, remember, we don't cry tears, we shed bullets. God forgives, we don't.
