My Haunted Garage

My Haunted Garage
So, I decided to take a break from giving a tutorial on how to do your own ghost hunting with instead a story of my own, but don’t worry it will be back next edition. I’ve told you the stories about seeing shadow people in my bedroom, about seeing a blue lady at the Cathouse in Bethlehem, but I got a surprise a few weeks ago and that is my garage is haunted. Oh yes, a place full of sharp tools, chemicals, and sharp tools (wait, I said that) is haunted. Did I mention that this garage is roughly brand new and nothing was there before?

Now, I’ve been living on this land for twenty years and we’ve never had anyone die on this property while we’ve been here. But that doesn’t mean that previous to my time here anyone else had died here. Remember, there is no such thing as a haunted house, just haunted people. Which more or less means that just because you have a brand new house (or trailer, or garage) does not mean that it can not be haunted. You don’t know what happened here before you moved in. Not only that, but there’s been some cases where realtors will lie to their customers that no deaths took place just so they’ll buy the property. Do I know what happened here previous to me moving in? No. After the events I’ve seen (or heard) do I want to? Oh yes!

Let’s move to the story of how I may have come to the conclusion that my garage is haunted. One night, me and my cousin were sitting outside talking about Charlie Sheen’s latest screw ups. No, I’m kidding, I despise pop culture…we were talking about ghosts of course. He was talking about how he really wants to get into ghost hunting and feels he may have what it takes to be a ghost hunter. Well, call it coincidence or just pure luck, but something may have heard us and decided to say hello. We hear the garage door open, close, and then the lights turn off. I thought it may been someone going in to do something, but why on Earth would they turn the lights off? We didn’t see anyone go in or go out. Me and my cousin shared a what the (heck) type of look and decided to go and see what may have caused this. We asked around and everyone said they were inside and that no one had been outside for about twenty minutes. This just happened about one minute ago. Well, we forgot about it until a few weeks ago.

My cousin, who’s name is Tyler (not the same cousin who went with me to the Cathouse on one of my previous articles) had a friend come over to spend the night. He comes over and tells me that they really want to see how a ghost investigation works. I still don’t consider myself a pro when it comes to ghost hunting, but being with NEPI for two years I think I’ve learned the basics pretty much. I grab some equipment, my K-II Meter, and my Olympus audio recorder. We decided to investigate the downstairs of the garage first.

The downstairs of the garage pitch black is pretty scary, because for one, you can’t see a thing and for two, there’s some high candidates to trip over and hurt yourself. That’s why flashlights are important and I made sure both of the teens had them. I sat down at one end while Tyler and his friend sat down at the other. When I do an EVP session (which I almost never do, I let Anthony handle that) I like to start off by saying, “We mean you no harm, so we’d like the same benefit from you. We’re just here to get in contact with you, to see if we can help you by any chance.” I would then ask them for their name and ask them relevant questions of why they are there.

I may have scared them though, because I asked the spirit to take my energy if they needed it. Tyler, on the other hand, decided that he wanted to offer his energy as well. The spirit may have took it, because Tyler said his feet felt like they were on pillows or clouds and he felt funny for a moment. Keep in mind, we just sat down, so the likely hood of his feet falling asleep seems rather impossible. Would he lie about this? My cousin is a well-known class clown at Lisbon Regional, but he’s also very serious and respectful about ghost hunting, so I highly doubt it. Also, Tyler said that the lights on my K-II were going dim, and the batteries on that should be good for awhile as I barely use it. The K-II, for those who are unaware, is used to detect any disruptions in the electro-magnetic field which some experts claim spirits are said to be made from.

After this, I sent them upstairs and I stayed downstairs to try and see if I can interrogate the spirit. With no luck, they came back down, and we decided to go over our EVPs. We weren’t ready for the shock we were about to receive. We stayed in the garage for one hour and caught half a dozen possible EVPs. Some were kind of sketchy such as hearing a phantom banging noise that we didn’t hear. I also got a grim sounding “No” when I asked if it died on this land. Upstairs, Tyler and his friend got the creepiest (but coolest) EVP’s. I won’t name them all, but here’s a few spine tingling ones:

-You can hear something say, “Get out” and then Tyler say that he just got a wicked cold chill.

-Moments without talking you can hear a little girl say, “I don’t want to go back there, (either Mommy or Rick).”

-And one laughing at Tyler.

The reason why I’m putting this here and interrupting my tutorials on how to do your own ghost hunting is because I have set up a date with NEPI to do an investigation here, so watch out for it.

Brand new or not, they can lurk anywhere. Maybe I brought a few home with me on some of my investigations, but I don’t mind, I’ve always wanted a spirit as a friend. Watch out the next time you tread through a cemetery. Until next time, this has been another Scared Sheetless. Happy haunting and keep it scary my graveyard disciples.
